Part 1 - Digging the Hole and Laying Liner

This video explains the process involved in digging the correct shape hole as well as laying the polyester underlay and rubber liner. The pond is 90% filled to pull the liner into all corners and shelves before adding the cascade and pond edging in parts 2 and 3.

Part 2 - Building the Cascade

This video shows the techniques used in building a cascade, working from the pond upwards to the top of the stream using cement and various rocks, cobbles and flat stones. It also explains the importance of liner height on the casacade sides and where / how to properly overlap liner to ensure the stream does not leak. Most problems with water loss can be associated with the cascade, so building it properly is essential for long term success.

Part 3 - Installing the Edging, Pump and Filter

This video shows the completed cascade (with water test), the installation of the walling and edging around the pond and the installation of the pump and filter with an easy trick for feeding cable through conduit.

Part 4 - Finished Pond and Rockery

The last video in this series shows the finished pond and rockery with a detailed explaination of pump placement in summer / winter. It also has detail on the pump benefits and filter operation and cleaning.
